What to Pack
Whether you have traditional braces or clear aligners, here’s a quick travel checklist:
For Braces:
- Toothbrush & travel-size toothpaste
- Floss threaders or orthodontic floss
- Interdental brushes
- Orthodontic wax (just in case!)
- A small mirror for quick checks
- Rubber bands (pack extra!)
For Clear Aligners:
- Your current aligners
- The next set (if you’ll switch during your trip)
- Your aligner case
- Cleaning crystals or a gentle cleanser
- A travel toothbrush
Keeping your supplies handy makes it easier to stay consistent — even on the go.
Be Mindful of Vacation Treats
Spring Break often means snacks and sweets. If you have braces, avoid sticky or hard foods like caramel, popcorn kernels, and hard candy that can damage brackets or wires.
For clear aligner patients, always remove aligners before eating or drinking anything besides water. Brush before putting them back in to keep your aligners clear and your teeth healthy.
What If Something Breaks?
Even with careful planning, things happen.
- Loose bracket? Cover it with orthodontic wax to prevent irritation.
- Poking wire? Wax can help temporarily, or carefully use clean nail clippers to trim if necessary.
- Lost or damaged aligner? Wear your previous set and call our office for guidance.
